Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky.

Kim received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Morehead State University and went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Kentucky. She has over 25 years in the Social Work field. Kim became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2015 and has 7 years experience in diagnosing and treating mental health issues in all age groups.  The Kentucky Board of Social Work grants Kim the authority to practice independently and requires her to adhere to a strict code of ethics and to attend regular trainings to continue to expand her skills and to stay up to date with new mental health concerns as they emerge in today’s world.

Kim has vast experience working with ages 5 and up. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. Kim brings with her years of experience of working in hospitals, group homes, nursing homes, in-home settings, and outpatient counseling. Her specialty areas include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with ages 5—18, issues relating to family conflict, and depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar, and Adjustment issues in all ages.

Kim believes that a person has the right to autonomy and choice in their daily lives and that the person should be actively involved in their treatment and have a choice in how that treatment progresses. Kim has a strong believe in person centered therapy, which includes these skills and techniques.  Kim also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral therapy to help the person change unhealthy or negative thoughts to improve daily life as needed.
