Lisa J. Hernandez is independently licensed to provide mental health services in the state of Kentucky as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, currently serving adolescents and adults. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Mountain State University in West Virginia and continued her education to receive a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Lisa has practiced clinically since 2009 serving children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings including clinical in-home services as well as outpatient services in both community mental health and community medical health integrated care models. Lisa is trained in several therapeutic modalities that are applicable to both mental health and substance use disorders and primarily utilizes components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in helping individuals move along the continuum of change towards actualizing their goals.

Lisa J. Hernandez MSW, LCSW, TCADC believes that success in therapy occurs when a trusting, patient-centered, collaborative relationship is established in which clients feel safe to share and address personal needs. She has training and experience to assist clients with behavior modification, problem-solving, mood management, healthy relationships, grief, life changes, stress management, trauma, substance abuse, and recovery support.
