What is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or LPCC?

Professional Counselors are licensed by most states including Kentucky to deliver assessment, diagnostic and treatment services for individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues. Their services may range from treatment for severe, persistent mental illness to helping someone struggling with everyday life issues.

These professionals are experts in helping people reach their potential and assist them with issues or circumstances they would like to change. Most are familiar with many different types of mental health and general problems people face. Professional counselors will usually use a variety of approaches and or styles to meet each client's particular need. Each must abide by a strict code of professional ethics.

The professional duties are very similar in nature to a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
